ClearSlot · Calendly for interviews

Interview scheduling for small hiring teams

We do one thing well: interview loop scheduling. Keep your own video call tools, AI notetaker, team wiki, etc. Pay per active interviewer.

ClearSlot works with the tools you already own, unlike competitors that make you pay twice for tools you already own

You don't need an ATS

You need interviews scheduled.

Applicant tracking systems cost thousands and take weeks to set up. Most are built for recruiting agencies, not for an in-house team where an engineering lead runs hiring off the side of their desk. (If you didn't know ATSs come in agency and in-house flavors: exactly. Neither did we, until we'd paid for the wrong one.)

ClearSlot does the one part that actually hurts, multi-interviewer scheduling, and leaves everything else where it already lives.

Looking for a Calendly alternative for hiring?

Plenty of teams run interviews through Calendly. It works until the second interviewer joins the loop. Calendly schedules one person's calendar; interviews need availability intersected across three or four people, plus reschedules that update everyone, plus a candidate who never sees your team's internal juggling.

ClearSlot is candidate scheduling software built for exactly that. Same booking-link simplicity, designed around interview loops instead of one-on-one meetings.

We don't replace the tools you already own

Full applicant tracking systems make you pay for a video call feature, AI tools, a built-in document editor, and spreadsheets. You end up paying extra for the bolted-on tools your business already owns.

Keep tracking candidates in Notion or a spreadsheet. Keep your video calls where they are. ClearSlot handles availability, booking, reschedules, and the emails in between. That's the whole job.

What you get, and what you don't

ClearSlot does

  • Manage candidates and schedules across multi-stage loops
  • Self-service booking links where candidates pick a slot without creating an account
  • Availability intersected across all interviewers, timezones handled
  • Reschedule and cancel flows that update every calendar and notify everyone

ClearSlot doesn't

  • We don't charge per employee like Ashby or Greenhouse do — you pay for active interviewers only
  • We don't do sales calls: just sign up with your Google account, and start scheduling
  • We don't sell another AI subscription, since you already have one
  • We don't harvest your data: it stays in your calendar

Pricing that counts interviewers, not employees

Other tools price by your headcount. We count who actually conducts interviews, computed automatically from usage:

No annual lock-in and no "contact us" tier.

Maximum privacy, by architecture

Candidate names and emails live in your Google Calendar, not in our database. Our servers touch candidate information only transiently — for example, when sending an email — and never store it. If a candidate asks what we hold about them, the truthful answer is: we can't even look them up.

Who's behind this

Decades of combined experience in recruiting, design, and software, including running hiring at small companies and feeling this exact pain. ClearSlot is the tool we wanted to buy and couldn't find at a sane price.

Who it's for

Small in-house teams, roughly 10 to 100 people, where hiring is coordinated by a founder or a manager. If you're running interview loops out of your inbox and a Notion board, this is for you.

It's deliberately not for recruiting agencies, and not for enterprises that need SSO and procurement workflows.

FAQ

How is ClearSlot different from Calendly?
Calendly is general-purpose scheduling for one calendar. ClearSlot is a recruiting interview scheduling tool: it intersects availability across several interviewers, tracks candidates through multi-stage loops, and handles the reschedules and notifications in between. If Calendly started creaking once you added a second interviewer, that's the gap we fill.
Does it work with Google Calendar?
Yes. Gmail and Google Workspace at launch; Microsoft 365/Outlook is on the roadmap.
Do candidates need an account?
No. They book through a link and get a clean calendar invite. That's it.
Do interviewers need training?
No. Interviews appear on their calendar. They can set working hours in two minutes if they want.
Do you integrate with Notion / our ATS / our tracker?
ClearSlot lets you customize interview settings, so you can link your Notion pages with interview questions, guidelines, etc. Not using Notion? Any other link will work.
Where's our data?
Candidate PII isn't stored on our servers at all. It stays in your Google Calendar. Everything else (loop metadata, your account) is hosted on Google Cloud.
What does it cost during early access?
Nothing, and early teams keep a permanent discount. We'll set up your first loop with you personally.
